Salt Lake Temple Wedding | Utah Wedding Photographer |
Weddings in the spring are so beautiful. Wait, I take that back... all weddings are beautiful, but each season has something special to offer. Spring has all the new flowers and the budding trees that I love. I'm coming out of winter mode and I'm excited to get outside and enjoy the weather.
This couple was so amazing to work with. I was out shooting with Morgan Leigh Photography and we couldn't get enough of them. They were so cute together and just enjoyed the time together without hardly noticing anyone around them. Morgan would put them into a pose and they would just be in their own little world. So cute!!

my birthday girls
This week two of my four kids have birthdays. My oldest and my youngest are turning 9 and 2. So this week we celebrate in our house. I love having my kids in my life and can't be grateful enough for them. They bring me joy and help me grow as a person. Lets be real, not all days are good, but the good outweigh the bad.
Here are just a few pictures I took a few weeks ago, so that I can update the pictures on the wall. This year we're doing a big canvas cluster so that I can enjoy them everyday.
That's why I love being able to work with my clients and help them design wonderful art pieces for their homes so they can enjoy daily. In the past my business has just done a cd for my clients, but this year I switched to offering a full range of products so that I can help you more fully enjoy those pictures.
You can contact me by phone or email so we can schedule your session.

Wedding Day Hairstyles
Wedding day hair is but one part to the many things that you do in order to get ready for you wedding day. You're thinking about so many things at once that you're probably a little stressed on all that needs to be done and adding in hair and makeup just puts it over the top.
**Before you consider what you want your hair to look like, think about hiring a professional to do it for you. That will help take stress off of you and allow you to enjoy getting ready for the happiest day of your life.
Here are just a few things to think about when deciding on what to do with your hair for the big day!
1. Consider what YOUR STYLE is- You want your hair to be complimentary to your style and who you really are. Think about what you normally wear and how you do your hair and then imagine what you want it to look like in your wedding dress. Your stylist can help you from there to put together the best look.
2. Do you want it UP or DOWN??- Again this goes back to your style. Do you want a classic and formal look or you looking for something with a modern and casual twist? Maybe your hair isn't long enough for an up style and you might want to think about extensions. Go with what feels natural to you, but makes you feel like the queen that you are.
3. To Accessorize or not- There are many styles out there that you can add on flowers in your hair or jewels. Consider all your options and then go with what will match your dress and style. The birdcage type veil is still a very popular look, but won't match every style of dress.
4. VEIL- Do you want one or not?- Not every bride wants to put on the traditional veil, but there are many options out there today to match almost every style. Also think about how your hair will go with the type of veil that you've chosen.
Most importantly, do you like it? I would schedule a time to do a trial run with your hair stylist so that you can see what it will look like and be able to tweak what you want. Let your hairstylist guide you through the process, but also tell them what you're going for. You may want to bring pictures with you to show them what you're interested in.
Make sure that in the end you like it and you will then in turn, love how you look on that day.

Salt Lake City Bridals |Utah Wedding Photographer|
The day we went out and shot these pictures, it was cloudy and raining. As soon as we stepped outside the clouds parted and the sun came out. It was amazing to see the light shining through the clouds. We did these down at the Salt Lake Temple and the grounds were just gorgeous! Out shooting with Morgan Leigh Photography. We always have a wonderful time:)

Hi this is Natalie from Pelle Makeup and Skin. Veronica asked me to be a guest blogger on her site today and share some bridal makeup tips with you all.
I am a licensed Master Esthetician and Makeup Artist and have been
working in the industry since 2001. Most brides may wonder why they would need
to do anything different to their makeup routine for their wedding and bridal
pictures, but paying attention to some little things can make a big difference
in the finished photos. So I have just put together a few tips on makeup and
skin care that can help you get ready for your big day.
Tips for bridal makeup
- Face primer- a must to make foundation and makeup last all day, also smooths out skin texture and fills in fine lines
- Lid primer- gives eyeshadow staying power and eliminates creasing
- Waterproof /water resistant, mascara, liner, lipstick, most likely there will be some tears and we don’t want a streaky face
- False lashes, make the eyes more glamorous and pull your look together
- Makeup setting spray, will make your finished face last throughout the whole day
- Brows and blush. Filling in your brows frames the eyes and you think you have enough blush on ….then put on some more, blush always fades in pictures
If all this is overwhelming, check out this post on
why hiring a Makeup Artist just might be the right thing for you.
Here are a few other things you can do to look your best before
the big day.
- Schedule facial treatments at least two weeks prior to your big day (facials can cause some breakouts especially on those who don't do them often.)
- Schedule all your facial waxing done at least 5-7 days prior to wedding day
- Don't drink any alcohol the morning of the wedding (it will cause redness in the face which no concealer will hide, try to avoid alcohol a couple days before as well, as it dries out the skin)
- Increase your water intake to half your weight in ounces, every day, for clearer, non-puffy face
- Relax and enjoy every moment...it will be over sooner than you think....and remember, things will go wrong...so just expect something to go wrong...and you won't get too upset.
Pelle Makeup and Skin wants to help make your wedding day extra
special. My bridal packaging is a steal of a deal, check it out here - Bridal Menu
Thanks Veronica for letting me be a guest on your page. Remember,
the best way to use makeup is to enhance the beauty you already have, not to
cover up or change you into a different person! J

Mother-in-Law gift |Utah Wedding Photographer|
Let's just talk about mother-in-laws for just a moment:)
I'd say that throughout time mother-in-laws have gotten a pretty bad wrap for being mean and heartless and just not able to get along with the daughter-in-law. Now at times, this might be true, but overall I would say that your relationship with this woman can be wonderful, if you so desire. She is the mother to the man you are marrying and must've done something right to raise this man.
Now I can tell you from experience that this relationship can be amazing, but only if you take the time to get to know one another and respect each other. You may have different opinions on many matters, but you have something in common: you both love this man!
You will be his new wife, but remember that his mother loves him too.
Here are just a few ways to get to know your mother-in-law and start a lifelong friendship
1. Get to know her one-on-one if you can- take her to lunch and ask her about herself and about the man you both share in common (her son). Get her to tell you some experiences about him and things that you can relate to with your own parents.
2. Show appreciation for her- You may not see eye to eye on everything, but let her know that you care about her and appreciate what she does.
3. Share life events with her- After you marry her son, you will have many events happen in your life that you can share with her and your inlaws. Let them in so they can be apart of your life and your familie's life. (Life events may include: birth of your children, graduation from school, moving to a new location, getting a new job).
4. Lastly, tell her thank you often- Everyone wants to feel like they matter and that they are worthwhile. Showing appreciation can be the best thing you've ever done for yourself and for others.
Mother's Day is coming up soon (May 12, 2013). Here is a wonderful gift idea I found online that you could give your mother-in-law to be.

Angie and Tony wedding day |Logan Utah Wedding Photographer|
I LOVE the look on their faces here! This is right after they got married and they're coming out to greet loved ones and family. It's such a great feeling when you get to share the day with two people that have made commitments to one another. Their families are celebrating and you get to capture the sheer joy and love that happens.
Angie and Tony got married in the Logan, UT LDS Temple. Feb. 1, 2013
I thought it would be really cold, but the day was beautiful and the sun was shining.
